A first case in the history of the legislature

While the Karnataka assembly was busy in the budget session on Friday, a man entered the assembly in Bengaluru and sat on JDS MLA Karimamma's chair. This person has been arrested. Police said the man, from Karnataka's Chitradurg district, claimed he entered the assembly without permission as he wanted to attend the budget session. This is the first time in the history of Karnataka Assembly that a person has entered the house in this manner.

Arrest of unknown person

When the man was questioned, the accused man, aged around 70, insisted that he was an MLA, but had no evidence to support his claim. Security officers were called to evict this person who entered the assembly in this way. The Speaker of the Legislative Assembly has also been informed about this incident. The incident has raised questions about the security arrangements at the Karnataka State Assembly building. Authorities launched an investigation and arrested him a few hours after the incident.

Information was given to the Chairman of the Legislative Assembly

The man entered the Legislative Assembly without any permission and was noticed when he was seen sitting on the MLA's designated chair during the budget session. Seeing an unknown face in the House, the JDS MLA informed and alerted the Speaker and Assembly Secretary. He said that an unknown person has occupied the seat of JD(S) MLA Karimamma in the Assembly.
