The court on Wednesday directed the Union Ministry of Information and Broadcasting and the Central Board of Film Certification to file personal affidavits on a petition filed in the Allahabad High Court against the screening of Adipurush. During the hearing, Justice Rajesh Singh Chauhan and Shri Prakash Singh hit out at the filmmakers saying that films should not be made on religious texts.

Film should not be made on religious books: Court
The court further clarified that you should not make a film on religious books of any religion like Bible or Quran. Court has no religion. The court said make a short documentary misrepresenting the Quran and then see what happens. On June 27, the court asked the Deputy Solicitor General to seek complete information from the I&B Ministry and the CBFC.
Petition to join Manoj Muntshir Shukla as party allowed
The court also accepted the plea to join the film's dialogue writer Manoj Muntshir Shukla as a party in the case and issued a notice to him as well. Today Deputy Solicitor General of India SB Pandey told the court that the film was certified by a five-member expert team. However, the petitioner did not challenge this certificate in court.
The reality of Ramayana was misrepresented in the film
The court commented that the Ramayana is real, different from what it is shown in the film, under such circumstances the film is to be certified. Activists Kuldeep Tiwari and Bandana Kumar have petitioned the Allahabad High Court against screening the film. Advocates Ranjana Agnihotri and Sudha Sharma made various representations to the court on behalf of the petitioner.
The film hurt the religious sentiments of Hindus
The petitioner claims that the universality of Ramayana has also been presented in doubt in the movie Adipurush. Apart from this, the film has also tried to defame the tradition of Ayodhya and Hinduism. The trailer of the film is also very vulgar and haphazardly made. As a result, the religious sentiments of Hindus have been hurt. The petitioner has stated in the petition that despite the Allahabad High Court issuing a notice to the CBFC during the hearing in January 2023, the board has not yet responded to it.
