In the world, these seven countries including China, America are the most victims of cyclones

India has seen an increase in the number of tropical Cyclones over the past few decades, but there are seven countries in the world that face more cyclones than India. The typhoon season in China continues for about twelve months. In 2006, a dangerous cyclone named Soumai caused property damage worth billions of rupees.

At the beginning of monsoon in the year 2023, people faced cyclone Mocha first in Bay of Bengal and then Bipor Joy in Arabian Sea. Cyclones hit the coast and wreak havoc, so preparations have to be made days in advance to deal with them. The number of tropical cyclones has increased over the last few years in India. The countries that face the most typhoons or cyclones include China, Japan, Philippines, USA and Mexico. In addition, Taiwan, Australia, Vietnam, Cuba and Madagascar are also cyclone affected countries.

(1) China-

Most cyclones occur in this neighboring country of India. Typhoon season continues for about twelve months in China. The vast sea near China keeps generating cyclones. Soumai was the most dangerous storm in China. Soumai in 2006 caused billions of rupees worth of property damage and thousands of lives.

In the month of July, a storm called Billis swept away 600 people. On an average there are 10 to 12 storms. The rain that accompanies the storm creates more desolation. Last year in 2022, a typhoon named Muifa struck which was the 12th ranked typhoon. In 1975, typhoon Nina hit China, which resulted in 41 inches of rain falling in 24 hours, breaking the dams of two reservoirs.

(2) Japan-

Due to the special climate and geographical location, natural disasters such as earthquakes and typhoons continue to occur. In the history of tropical cyclones, the typhoon Vera that hit Japan in 1959 was the most dangerous. The low end category 5 cyclone caused a lot of damage to life and property.

About 15 to 20 small and big cyclones occur in Japan every year. In the last year 2022, the 14th cyclone of the season named Nanmadol was very severe. Cyclone Hinanor, originating from the western Pacific Ocean, hit the southern coast and islands with a speed of 200 km per hour.

(3) USA-

America, the world's fourth largest country and economic superpower, has been battling against cyclones for the past few years. In 2022, about 60 small and big storms occurred in 7 states of America. In which more than 8 crore people were affected. Every year, storms break electricity poles and uproot thousands of trees. Even in the most developed countries of the world, power supply stops.

Cyclone is called Andhi in India, which is called Tornado in America. Tornado causes less loss of life but great loss of property. Cyclone Bomb in California caused billions of dollars in damage. America is troubled by cyclones coming from the Atlantic Ocean and the Gulf of Mexico. The cyclone in the year 1900 was the most dangerous. According to hurricane data, Florida is the worst hit state.

(4) Mexico-

Cyclones from the Pacific Ocean and the Gulf of Mexico (North Atlantic Ocean) near the Mexican border. During summer, when temperatures are very high in the Northern Hemisphere, the possibility of cyclones or tornadoes increases. Cyclone in 1959 was one of the most severe natural disasters.

In 2021, Grace, a category 3 hurricane, made landfall from the Gulf of Mexico. Cyclones usually weaken after landfall but heavy rains can also cause damage. 50 percent chance of cyclone coming to US and America is from the Gulf of Mexico.

(5) Philippines-

The island nation has been battered by hurricanes for centuries. It is known as the land of storms. People still remember Typhoon Haiyan in 2013 among tropical cyclones. Another name of this cyclone was Typhoon Yoland.

The Haiyan devastated several parts of South East Asia. Haiyan killed 6300 people in the Philippines. Usman in 2019, Goni in 2020, Typhoon Rai in 2021 and Nalge in 2022 drew attention. 20 lakh people were affected by floods due to heavy rains from Cyclone Nalag.

6) Australia –

In the world's largest country and smallest continent, there are more cyclones in the month of November to April. South central and coastal areas are the worst affected. The most powerful tropical cyclone Monica hit in 2006 with a speed of 180 km per hour.

Monica made landfall near Mainingrida with parallel winds on the coast of the Northern Territory. Casualties were low but Monika caused extensive damage to forested areas. When Tropical Cyclone Stan made landfall in 2016, the wind speed was 80 to 100 kmph.

(7) Taiwan-

Taiwan, which China considers part of One China, has been a victim of powerful typhoons and cyclones. In 1959, Super Typhoon Joana hit Taiwan with a speed of 185 km per hour. The storm finally made landfall in China. Typhoons occur in Taiwan at any time of the year.

Government and people have to be alert. Due to modern technology and foresight, the interest rate has come down but the loss of property and assets is increasing. In 2015, a typhoon named Dujuan made landfall in the eastern part at a speed of 115 mph.
