The India Meteorological Department (IMD) said Cyclone Biparjoy is likely to move east-northeast Rajasthan and maintain depression intensity during the next 12 hours. Wards were flooded in hospitals. Many roads were submerged.

Bipperjoy turned into deep depression

Heavy waterlogging and flood-like conditions were seen in many places. Hospital wards were also flooded. India Meteorological Department (IMD) Director General Dr Mritunjay Mohapatra said on Saturday that Cyclone Biparjoy has weakened into a deep depression and is moving in an east-northwest direction. Heavy rain is likely at one or two places in the surrounding areas of South Rajasthan and North Gujarat. He further said that only Gujarat and Rajasthan are getting rain due to the cyclone.

Mahapatra said - Biparjoy became weak

Cyclone Biparjoy has weakened. It is moving in an East-North East direction. Heavy to very heavy rain is likely at one or two places over south Rajasthan and north Gujarat. Due to the cyclone, it is raining only in Gujarat and Rajasthan. Monsoon has nothing to do with this cyclone. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) said Cyclone Biparjoy weakened into a 'deep depression' on June 16 over southwest Rajasthan and adjacent southeast Pakistan and Dholavira and Kutch about 100 km northeast of Gujarat. It moved towards Rajasthan after landfall in Gujarat.
