In Uttar Pradesh's Ballia, 103 people have died in the last 9 days due to extreme heat and lack of care. Along with this, more than 400 people have been admitted to the hospital. However, the officials gave different reasons behind this death. Due to which questions have started to arise.

The government doctor raised the question

A senior government doctor, AK Singh, said that prima facie the deaths of these people do not appear to be due to heatwave or heatstroke as similar death tolls are not seen in neighboring districts that faced similar conditions. The initial symptoms were often chest pain which is not the first symptom for any patient affected by heatwave.

What else could be the cause of death?

He said that these deaths could also be due to water. It will be investigated whether the cause of death was water or something else. The climate department will also come to test water samples. Earlier, a doctor of the rank of Chief Medical Officer posted in Ballia was removed from his post. He said on record that many of the deaths were due to heatstroke, which went viral.

What did UP's health minister say?

UP Health Minister Brijesh Pathak said that the officer was removed for making a statement about the death due to loo without proper information. However, the opposition has taken an aggressive stance on this matter of death. SP president Akhilesh Yadav has blamed the state government for the death. Due to the negligence of the state government, so many people have lost their lives across UP. They don't need to warn people about heatwaves. Not a single district hospital has been constructed in UP in the last 6 years.
