Patna: The state government has taken major action and issued a notice to the Construction company in the case of the bridge under construction on the river Ganga in Bhagalpur district of Bihar.

Additional Chief Secretary of Road Construction Department Pratyay Amarit said that the Executive Engineer involved in the construction of the bridge has been suspended. He told reporters that a Haryana-based company was awarded the contract for the construction of the bridge. The Managing Director of Bihar Rajya Pul Nirman Nigam has issued a show cause notice to the company. The company has been given 15 days to respond. In the notice, the company has been asked why you should not be blacklisted by the government. The executive engineer who failed to monitor the quality of work has also been suspended.

It is worth mentioning that the construction work of this bridge was started to connect Bhagalpur and Khagaria districts. In 2014, Nitish Kumar laid the foundation stone of this bridge. 1700 crore rupees were allocated for the construction of this bridge and the target was given to complete the construction of the bridge by 2019.
