- As soon as the crack was discovered, the staff took action and changed the coach

A major disaster was averted at Sengottai railway station in Tamil Nadu when a Crack was found in the Coach of the Chennai Egmore Express arriving at Sengottai station. The railway staff then immediately separated that coach from the train, attached a new coach and sent it ahead.

Southern Railway informed that a crack was found in the S3 coach of train number 16102 (Kollam-Chennai Egmore Express) at Sengottai station in Tamil Nadu at 3:36 pm yesterday. The railway staff immediately separated the coach from the train and made the passengers sit in other coaches. Then the coach was changed in the train. The train was sent forward at around 4:40 p.m.

Southern Railway said the staff took action and changed the coach as soon as the crack was reported. He said the crack detection staff would be appreciated for their vigilant monitoring and would be felicitated by the Divisional Railway Manager, Madurai Division.
