Poonch District Magistrate Yasin M. Chaudhary has banned fireworks, bursting Firecrackers, sale and storage of firecrackers during wedding ceremonies. This step was taken after the insistence of the SSP and keeping in mind the warnings given by security and terrorists. This ban will remain in force until further orders.

Why was the decision taken?

The SSP said that people burst crackers in huge quantities as it is the wedding season. This puts the Security Forces and the police, including common people, in a quandary that there has not been a terrorist attack somewhere? On the other hand, due to the warning of the terrorists, there may be an obstacle for the security forces to take immediate action in the coming days. Under the order, the municipalities of Poonch and Surankot have also been ordered to use publicity media to convey this order to the people.
