World's top ten international airports, brimming with glitz and amenity

The world is becoming a global village, distances between two countries or places can be covered in a matter of hours by air travel. In today's business and competitive world, the volume of air travel is increasing. There are domestic airports for domestic flights while international airports are for flights from one continent to another.

Each airport has different levels of busyness, glitz and facilities. Travelers remember the experience at the airport for a long time. In the year 2023, a list of 100 airports of the world has been prepared by a British consultancy company after knowing the opinion of tourists through a survey. The list was released during the Passenger Terminal Expo held in Amsterdam last March. The world's top ten international airports included Singapore, Qatar, Japan, South Korea, France, Turkey, Germany, Switzerland and Spain.

(1) Singapore Changi International Airport


Changi International Airport has got the top position not only in Asia but also in the world. It ranks as the busiest airport in South East Asia. Apart from global connectivity and punctuality, passenger convenience and needs have been given a modern touch.

As the number of passengers increased, the terminal was expanded. Established on 30th June 1981, Changi Airport is being developed keeping in mind the future needs. This is why after two years it has succeeded in getting the top position again.

(2) Hamad International Airport


Hamad International Airport in Qatar's capital Doha is well known. The airport is described as an architecturally significant terminal complex. This hub airport of Qatar Airways is very luxurious and attractive. Hamad Airport won the World Airport of the Year award in 2021 and 2022.

(3) Tokyo Haneda International Airport,



This airport in Japan is one of the busiest airports in the world. This airport has 3 terminals. Located south of central Tokyo. Haneda Airport was established in 1931 in a small space. An international terminal was opened in 1963. Haneda has 3 terminal buildings as well as a VIP terminal. The airport is also Japan's third largest air cargo hub.

(4) Seoul Incheon Airport,


It is the largest airport in South Korea. At one time, it also won the title of Airport of the Year in the World Airport Awards. The airport includes a golf course, a spa, private relaxation rooms, an ice skating rink, a casino, indoor gardens and a video game center, and a museum of Korean culture. The duty free shopping mall also became popular.

(5) Charles de Gaulle Airport,


Paris, France has the largest international airport. The airport serves as a major hub for France Airlines. Established in 1974, this Paris airport is named after the politician Charles de Gaulle. This airport of Paris ranks top in terms of food service and dining.

(6) Istanbul International Airport,


Turkey's hallmark is its majestic international airport. It is the main hub of Turkish Airlines. The airport currently has one terminal serving domestic and international flights. It has become a major air transport hub connecting Europe, Africa and Asia. The renovation of Istanbul Airport is considered a major achievement of the Turkish government. Two already existing airports in Istanbul, Atatürk and Sabiha Gökçen, are included. The airport still has some work in progress with capacity to accommodate more passengers.

(7) Munich International Airport,


The airport is the second busiest airport in Germany. Lufthansa is an alternative hub for German Airlines. There are over 150 retail stores and over 50 food and beverage outlets. Travelers looking forward to onward journeys enjoy and make their stay in Munich a memorable one.

(8) Zurich International Airport,


Switzerland's busiest airport and an important hub for international air lines. Downtown Zurich is 12 km away. Zurich Airport is connected to most of the country.

(9) Narita International Airport,


Tokyo Narita Airport is an international airport serving the Greater Tokyo area of ​​Japan. Narita serves as an international hub for Japan Airlines and All Nippon Airways.

(10) Madrid Barajas,


Madrid Barajas is the main airport in Madrid and the hub airport for Iberia. This international airport in Spain is an important connection point for flights between Europe and Latin America.
