After losing Shiv Sena's name and election symbol, former Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray has suffered another big blow. Bhushan Desai, son of his close friend and Thackeray (UBT) faction leader Subhash Desai, today joined Eknath Shinde's Shiv Sena. Bhushan's move to the Shinde group is seen as an important step ahead of the upcoming Greater Mumbai Municipal Corporation - BMC elections. Bhushan joined the Shinde group in the presence of CM Eknath Shinde. Bhushan was accused in the MIDC land scam case during the assembly session, after which the government also ordered an inquiry.

Bhushan Desai's father is very close to the Thackeray family

Bhushan Desai's father Subhash Desai served as Minister of Industries and Mines during the Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) regime in Maharashtra. Subhash Desai is considered a close confidant of the Thackeray family. Recently, Uddhav Thackeray, who considered the Shiv Sena to be the real Shiv Sena, got a big shock when the Election Commission gave the Shiv Sena name and symbol to the Eknath Shinde group.

After the Election Commission, Uddhav will not get any relief even from the Supreme Court

Uddhav also appealed to the Supreme Court challenging the decision of the Election Commission, but he did not get any relief. The Supreme Court, while hearing the case on February 22, refused to stay the Election Commission's order to recognize the Shinde-led faction as the genuine Shiv Sena and to allocate the party name and symbol. The court allowed the Thackeray faction to retain the name Shiv Sena (Uddhav Balasaheb Thackeray) and the election symbol of 'Jalati Mashal' until further orders.
