An Elephant went berserk during a yajna ceremony organized at Mohammadpur Mafi village in Jagatbela of Tiwaripur area in Gorakhpur district. An enraged elephant trampled some people. 3 people died in this incident. CM Yogi also expressed grief over the incident and has ordered compensation of Rs 5 lakh each to the family members of the deceased.

People said that the elephant was called in the yajna. He created a lot of ruckus in the pandal, in which 3 people died. While some people have been seriously injured. The elephant started running on the road in a frenzy. In the meantime, anyone who came in his way was crushed. However, there is no official confirmation of death yet.

According to the information, there was a lot of noise during the Yagya. Some people were teasing the elephant which made him angry. As soon as the information about the incident was received, the police and forest department officials have reached the spot. The elephant has escaped into the field from the road inside the village. Efforts are being made to control it.

The villagers say that the Kalash Yatra of Yagya was being taken out today. For which preparations were going on in the village with full vigor. An elephant was also called to participate in the procession of this Kalash Yatra. About 1,000 people were present at the scene. Seeing the elephant at the Yajna place, people were taking selfies with it. Meanwhile, people surrounded the elephant from all sides. Hearing the shouts of the people, the elephant got angry.

CM Yogi expressed grief

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has expressed grief over the incident that took place in Mohammadpur Mafi village located in Jagatbela. He has expressed his condolences to the families of the deceased and ordered to pay Rs 5 lakh each to the families.
