Union Home Minister Amit Shah's plane made an emergency landing due to bad weather

Union Home Minister Amit Shah's plane had to make an emergency landing at Gopinath Bordoloi International Airport in Guwahati yesterday. Amit Shah was supposed to reach Agartala last night but due to very bad weather, his plane had to make an emergency landing in Guwahati at around 10.45 pm. According to Amit Shah's program, two Rath Yatras were to be flagged off today in the northeastern state. Assembly elections are scheduled to be held in Tripura early this year. West Tripura Superintendent of Police Shankar Debnath said that Union Home Minister Amit Shah was scheduled to land at MBB airport at around 10 am yesterday but the plane could not land due to dense fog and low visibility. SP said. The flight scheduled for MBB airport has landed in Guwahati and Amit Shah stayed there for the night.

Agartala was to be reached by 11 pm
Earlier, Bharatiya Janata Party state president Rajib Bhattacharya said Shah would reach Agartala yesterday to flag off the Rath Yatra from Dharmanagar in North Tripura district and Sabroom subdivision in South Tripura district.

Both will give the green light to the program - CM
Chief Minister Manik Saha had earlier told reporters that the Jan Vishwas Yatra will mark the party's campaign for the upcoming assembly elections and we are happy that the Union Home Minister will flag off both the programmes. Shah will first go to Dharmanagar where he will flag off the yatra and address the rally. Saha said that after this he will go to Sabroom where he will inaugurate the second Rath Yatra and address the public gathering. He said that Shah would return to Agartala after the Sabroom program and leave for Tripura in the evening.
