Amoeba eating human brain in Korea amid Corona, one death

Corona has started again in many countries of the world. Many European countries including China, Japan are in the grip of Corona. Meanwhile, a new disease has also entered. The first case of Naegleria Fowleri has been reported in South Korea. It is commonly called the brain-eating amoeba.

A 50-year-old man died in South Korea after returning from Thailand, South Korea's Korea Disease Control and Prevention Agency (KDCA) reported.

The 50-year-old returned to South Korea on December 10 after four months in Thailand and died of the infection on December 21. It is a dangerous disease. The man remained hospitalized for a week.

The amoeba breathes through the nose and reaches the brain to destroy tissue. It is known as (PAM) Primary Amebic Meningoencephalitis. This transition is vital.

This amoeba is fast replicating, meaning it produces its replicas very quickly. When a person is infected with it, they initially show symptoms like headache, fever, nausea and vomiting.


KDCA has warned

The chances of getting infected with Naegleria fowleri are very low, the CDC said. But locals have been asked to be cautious. As of 2018, a total of 381 cases of Naegleria fowleri had been reported worldwide, including the US, India, and Thailand.
