Prime Minister Modi's message of 'no war' resonated in the G-20

- Modi's suggestion of peaceful efforts and diplomatic activity to resolve the war became the focal point of the consensus proposal of the G-20.

Bali: In the unanimous resolution prepared on the fifth and last day of the G-20 summit meeting here today, the message of 'no-war' given by the Prime Minister of India, Narendra Modi, was echoing in the ears of all the delegates.

In the backdrop of the Russia-Ukraine war, Narendra Modi said in his message, 'Today's age cannot be an age of war.' These words of Modiji were becoming central in the proposal of G-20.

The Indian Delegation also played an important role in encapsulating this suggestion of the Prime Minister in the motion and unanimously passing the motion statement.

In particular, the statement was worded to criticize Russia's invasion of Ukraine.

Three senior Indian officials who were aware of the proposal when it was being prepared said it also specifically echoed Narendra Modi's clear words to Putin in September that "now is not the time for war". Secretary Vinay Kawatra, who went to the Indian delegation in Bali, said in a press conference, "The Prime Minister's suggestion to resolve every conflict peacefully and every crisis through dialogue and diplomacy was becoming the focal point of the proposal passed by the global leaders."

It is worth mentioning that, when the world is divided into two parts regarding the Ukraine-war, this suggestion made by Modi has been accepted as a special paragraph in the 'Declaration Letter' of the G-20 Conference, and his language has also been universal.

The official also said that the Indian Prime Minister's emphasis on the path of 'ceasefire and talks' at the summit clearly refers to the Ukraine war.

Especially, these statements of Narendra Modi clarify India's stance on Ukraine-war. Both the language used in the G-20 declaration and the statement made by India at the UN forum clarifying India's position have both been carefully preserved.

Apart from this, India's focus on sustainable development and the implementation of the UN Agenda 2030 on climate change by 2025 and the recommendations of the Global Digital Health Network have placed India in a unique position among the G20 countries.
