Hurricane Ian has wreaked havoc in Florida. According to the National Hurricane Center, 20 people have died so far. After Florida, the storm is now wreaking havoc in South Carolina. Hurricane Ian lashed Florida with winds of 240 to 250 kilometers per hour. Coastal areas have been affected everywhere. In low-lying areas including Lee County, houses were flooded with 7-8 feet of water. As it was not possible for people to get out, the rescue teams delivered the essential items with the help of a boat. Similarly, a rescue operation was carried out to bring out the people trapped in the flood with the help of boats. According to the National Hurricane Center, the storm has weakened in Florida, but many people are still affected by blackouts in 20 million homes.
After Florida, the storm is now battering South Carolina. After the storm hit the coast of Carolina with a speed of about 150 kilometers per hour, there was also heavy rain. Numerous trees were also downed in the Carolinas. There was blackout in many areas due to power failure. Several mobile homes were damaged. Up to eight inches of rain fell everywhere. Roads were blocked due to them.


After knowing the condition of the storms that hit these two states, US President Joe Biden said that his government is making all efforts to help the states. Rescue operations are going on in touch with the governors of the states. But it will take years to recover from the devastation caused by Hurricane Ian, one of the most powerful hurricanes ever to hit the Americas. Many people's houses have collapsed. Many people have lost their lives. Some people have also suffered property damage.
Hurricane Ian was placed in the monster-4 category. That is, this storm was the most powerful. It was the fifth deadliest hurricane to hit in the 21st century. Apart from Coast Guard, firefighters, army personnel have also joined the rescue operation. More than one crore people have been affected by these storms.
