A Mumbai woman who went missing 20 years ago was found in Pakistan with the help of social media

A woman who went missing in Mumbai almost 20 years ago has been found in 2022. This woman is from Mumbai who went abroad for work. The woman's name Hamida Bano (70) has been traced to Pakistan with the help of social media.

Hamida Bano, a resident of Hyderabad city in Pakistan, moved from Mumbai to Dubai in 2002 to work as a domestic helper. Recently, Hamida Bano has contacted her family in Kurla, Mumbai with the help of social media.

According to Hamida Bano's family, an activist Waliullah Maruf met Hamida Bano in Pakistan and Hamida told him that an agent had cheated her 20 years ago by promising her work in Dubai and sent her to Pakistan in exchange for Dubai.


Hamida Bano settled in Hyderabad, the capital of Pakistan's Sindh province, and later married a local man, with whom she had a child. But after a few days, Hamida Bano's husband died.

A YouTuber from Pakistan, after hearing Hamida Bano's story, uploaded a video of her on his YouTube channel and searched for a social worker in Mumbai who could help her. Finally they found a man named Khaflan Sheikh.

Khaflaan Sheikh shared the video with his local group and traced it to Yasmeen Bashir Sheikh, daughter of Hamida Bano, who lives in Kasaiwada area of ​​Kurla. Hamida Bano's daughter Yasmin said her mother went to Dubai for work in 2002 through an agent. However, the agent cheated and sent him to Pakistan.
