National level political parties in the financial year 2020-21 Rs. A donation of 420 crores was Received. However, there was a 41.49 per cent decline in Donations to political parties compared to last year, election-related analysis firm ADR said in a report released on Thursday.
The latest report of ADR indicates that in the year 2020-21 political parties were also hit by Corona and recession. A few days before the start of the financial year 2020-21, the first wave of corona epidemic came in the country and a nationwide lockdown was imposed. The Association for Democratic Reforms (ADR) said in a statement that donations received by the BJP in 2020-21 declined by 39.23 percent. BJP in 2020-21 Rs. 477.54 crores was donated while in 2019-20 this amount was Rs. 758.77 crores. Earlier, in comparison to 2018-19, there was an increase of 5.88 percent in the donations received by BJP in 2019-20.
In the year 2020-21, the donations received by the Congress also decreased by 46.39 percent. In 2019-20, Congress got Rs. 138.16 crore was received in donations, which in 2020-21 fell to Rs. 74.524 crore had been reached. Between the year 2018-19 and 2019-20, the donations received by Congress decreased by 6.44 percent. 246 crores from Delhi in 2020-21, Maharashtra Rs. 71.68 crore and more than 47 crore rupees were donated from Gujarat. National parties include BJP, BSP, Congress, Communist Party of India, Trinamool Congress, NCP and National People's Party.
National parties in corporate and professional sector will receive Rs. 480.55 crore, which was more than 80 per cent of the total donations while 2,258 individual donors donated a total of Rs. 111.65 crore was donated. In the financial year 2020-21, the BJP received over 1,100 donations (Rs. 416.794 crore) from the corporate and professional sector while 1,071 individual donors contributed Rs. 60.37 crore was donated. During this time, Congress received a total of Rs. 146 through donations from the corporate sector. 35.89 crore and through 931 individual donors Rs. 38.634 crore was received.
