Mehul Choksi, a fugitive diamond trader imprisoned in Dominica, has been hit hard. A Dominican magistrate's Court has rejected Mehul Choksi's bail application on the grounds of illegal entry into the country. On the other hand, the Dominica High Court hearing on Mehul Choksi's extradition to India has been postponed.

Mehul Choksi's lawyer Vijay Agarwal said after the Dominica Magistrates' Court's verdict that they would knock on the High Court's door for Mehul's bail. Mehul Choksi to PNB's Rs. India has been declared wanted in a Rs 12,400 crore scam. Meanwhile, Mehul Choksi's extradition to India was scheduled to be heard in the Dominica High Court, but it has been postponed. The next date of the hearing has not been announced. As a result, the decision to send Mehul Choksi to India or Antigua has now been postponed.
