According to the revised rules, if an officer writes anything without permission after retirement, his pension can be withheld. He must seek approval before writing anything. The competent authority shall have the right to decide whether the material proposed for publication is sensitive or insensitive and whether it falls within the jurisdiction of the organization.

A clause has been added by the DOPT by amending the Central Civil Service (Pension) Rules, 1972 stating that those working in unions mentioned in the second list of RTI Act on Retirement are not allowed to publish anything related to the domain of the organization without the prior approval of the President of the organization.
