Naxals blow up bus with IED in Narayanpur, Chhattisgarh, killing five policemen

Chhattisgarh has once again witnessed a Naxal attack. In Chhattisgarh's Narayanpur district, Naxals blew up a bus full of police personnel with an ID blast. 5 jawans have been martyred in this incident. As many as 13 passengers were injured, five of them in critical condition.

The attack happened when a District Reserve Guard (DRG) convoy was returning from an operation. The bus was heading to Narayanpur when the attack took place between Kanhergam and Kadenar village. The Naxals were already sitting in ambush. Among the five policemen killed in the attack was a driver.

Rescue teams rushed to the spot after the incident and started evacuating the injured from the forest. The injured have been airlifted to Raipur for treatment. Speaking about the incident, the state police chief said that 20 policemen were on board the bus at the time of the attack.

The Naxals Blew up the bus with an ID while it was passing through the forest. The blast was so large that the bus overturned and fell into a ditch below. This is the second major Naxal attack on a DRG convoy in a year. Earlier, on March 21, 2020, 17 people were killed in a Naxal attack in Sukma district. Including 12 DRG personnel.
