In fact, stock exchanges BSE and NSE will organize a special trading session in the equity and equity derivatives segment on Saturday to test their preparedness to deal with major disruption or failure. During this special trading session, the functionality will be tested by transferring the transactions from the Primary Site (PR) to the Disaster Recovery (DR) site.

Typically in the event of a major disruption or failure at the primary site, business is shifted to the DR site to continue. Both the stock exchanges said in separate circulars that two sessions would be held on Saturday. The first session will run from 9:15 am to 10 am on PR and the second session will run on DR site from 11:30 am to 12:30 pm.New Delhi. Special Session After consultation with SEBI,

the maximum price range of all securities (including securities containing derivative products) during this special session will be five percent. Whereas the securities already in the price range of two percent or less will remain available in their band only.This session is being organized after discussions with market regulator SEBI and their technical advisory committee. Its objective is to assess the preparedness of market infrastructure institutions to enable them to handle any unexpected event.
