The Medical Counseling Committee (MCC) has given new guidelines for the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test-Postgraduate (NEET PG) 2022 special round counselling. More details can be found on the official website of MCC i.e., - mcc.nic.in

According to the new rules and guidelines, all competitors who are designated seats in the Special Round should join their Assigned Seats by April 7, 2022, Thursday.

Moreover, the seats of round two, which have been emptied by the candidates who are assigned seats in the special round will be included for mop-up round of PG counselling 2022.

Also, colleges have been told to take offline resignation of round 2 candidates who have been distributed seats in the special round and send the scanned copies to Medical Counseling Committee on [email protected]. The college authorities will also need to return the original documents of such candidates and clear their dues so they can join in Special Round distributed colleges.

Meanwhile, the MCC has stopped the process of choice filling for NEET-Super Speciality counselling, as seats from a few colleges and institutions hadn't been added to the seat matrix. "… the choice filling for super specialty will be stopped for quite a while with the goal that these universities/institutes might add these seats to the seat matrix," the notification from the MCC read, adding, "as soon the option of the new seats by the colleges/institutes is complete, the choice filling will be continued and will be advised via notice".

By the evening, the MCC added 237 additional seats, including 97 in the all-India quota, to the matrix for Round 1 of the counselling.
