The mother of a 13-year-old boy is convinced that the Human Remains found in the home of a 56-year-old man belong to her son.
“As a mother, I know. I can tell it’s him. It’s been four days and suddenly they discover these body parts,” Triesa van Wyk told TBEN.
She met detectives at Klawer police station on Saturday – a day after police discovered the Remains in the sewer pipes at the man’s home. The man is in custody.
“Detectives told us they found an ear, kidney and intestines in the house drain.”
Her son, Jerobiojin, and his friend were trying to get mangoes from the man’s house on Wednesday, she said.

The man grabbed them, got into his car and chased after his son, she added.
“The man then grabbed Jerobiojin and injured his leg and took him away. Jerobiojin’s friend came to tell me everything that had happened and that’s when I came to the police station. police but no one could help me.”
Now she clings to memories of her son.
“He was very playful and when he smiled his teeth showed – that’s what I will remember. I will miss him very much,” she said.
She had a message for the man detained by police in connection with the discovery of the human remains: “I want to tell him, God is not sleeping. He must feel what he did to my child.”
When TBEN went to the man’s home, police had cordoned off the area and forensic experts were searching the crime scene for clues.
When TBEN arrived on Second Avenue, where the remains were discovered, two members of the area neighborhood watch were posted around the house to prevent any incidents of violence after the incident sparked outrage in the community.
Nicolaas Beukes, a neighborhood watch member who helped search for Jerobiojin, was patrolling the area.
“Nobody knew who this man was. All we know is that he worked at the station. The community is very angry about what happened and they want justice,” said Beukes.
Second Avenue is under police surveillance and regular patrols are carried out.
Sharna Fernandez, MEC for Social Development, told TBEN that the department is working closely with authorities and the community.
“We have provided support to the family. We will continue to assist the family with the necessary psychosocial services,” she said.
