It was nothing but tears in the village of Boigesa, Bobasi sub-county in Kisii county, as five members of one Family who perished in a horrific traffic accident on Christmas Day have was buried on Friday, December 7.
The family, from Mombasa, were on their way to Kisii on December 25, 2021 to celebrate the holidays when calamity struck.
Ronald Bundi and his daughters Natalia Kemunto Bundi and Claire Kwamboka Bundi died instantly on that fateful day.
His wife Veronica Bundi, his eldest daughter Marion Bundi and his sons Mike and Venand Bundi were in a hospital in Voi before being transferred at the General Hospital of the Coast.

Veronica, sadly, succumbed to injuries three days later, while Marion died while in intensive care six days later on New Years Eve.
Mike and Venand are currently recovering at the General Hospital of the Coast.
On a heartbreaking occasion, the two were transported to requiem mass in an ambulance on Thursday, January 6, to view the bodies of their deceased family members before being returned to hospital.
“Even though we mourn my brother, his wife and their three children, we are grateful to God for saving the lives of my two young nephews who are currently in hospital and are responding well to treatment,” praised Casmir Nyabuto, Ronald Bundi’s brother.
Casmir mourned Bundi as a pillar of family strength saying, “Bundi was our last born brother, he did so much for our family. He was the one who took us to Mombasa where we worked in his company … it’s such a shame that their return trip has become tragic.
Chief Administrative Secretary of Transport Chris Obure, who is from the same village as the deceased, has vowed to stand with the surviving young boys
“We will support Bundi’s two surviving children. We will also work to complete the church he helped build,” Obure pledged.
Hundreds of mourners attended the final trip of the deceased family, which was chaired by the Bishop of the Catholic Diocese of Kisii, Joseph Mairura.
The remains were buried in their family home in a tomb, divided into five sections.
An unrecognizable car burned down on Saturday, December 25, 2021, along the Nairobi – Mombasa highway.
