Tyga has become the latest celebrity to be eliminated from The Masked Singer US as Dalmatian, failing to make it through his first round of the competition.

The Masked Singer franchise has seen a range of huge stars take part in an effort to show off their impressive vocal skills behind the disguise of bonkers costumes.

Earlier this year, the UK version of the series saw A-listers among the likes of Sophie Ellis-Bextor and Gabrielle take part, with singer Joss Stone eventually winning the contest as Sausage.

Across the pond in the US, Tyga – who was previously in a relationship with reality star Kylie Jenner – became the fourth celebrity to be unmasked in season six of The Masked Singer US.

After Vivica A Fox and Dwight Howard were eliminated in the first week as Mother Nature and Octopus respectively, followed by Toni Braxton as Pufferfish in week two, finally, it was Dalmatian’s turn to take his final bow.

Before being unmasked, Dalmatian took to the stage to perform Beautiful, a track by Snoop Dogg featuring Pharrell Williams.

Despite impressing with his evident rapping skills – no surprise for a Grammy-nominated rapper – the canine-costumed celeb was on the chopping block.

While it may have come as a surprise that the rapper took part in the show, several Masked Singer viewers figured out it was Tyga from the get-go.

‘I know that walk & that voice it’s DEFINITELY Tyga we don’t need no hints #TheMaskedSinger,’ one person tweeted.

‘I THINK THE DALMATION IS TYGA!!! As a matter of fact I know,’ someone else said.

After his elimination, Tyga said that he planned on taking the head part of his Dalmatian costume home with him, as they ‘blinged out the teeth’ as a ‘little custom twist’.

He explained that starring on the series was ‘definitely a big leap’ for him because he likes to try things that are out of his ‘comfort zone’.

‘Performing as a dog, that was my first time ever performing with a costume or a mask on and the crowd not knowing who I am,’ he said.

Tyga admitted that he was afraid judge Robin Thicke would realise it was him, because they’ve worked together on music before.

He therefore tried to mask his voice, making it sound more like Snoop Dogg during his performance.

The Masked Singer series 2: Who is behind each mask?

With the nation more or less confined to their living rooms every Saturday night, The Masked Singer has proven to be something of a lockdown 3.0 saviour.

While the performances are of course a draw, most of the fun lies in guessing just who is behind each mask.

Here is who was behind each mask:
