Ondo govt partners private sector for better health service delivery | Newspot

The Ondo State Government has said it will not relent towards upgrading its healthcare delivery system until quality services are taking to the doorsteps of residents in the state.

The Chief Medical Director of the University of Medical Sciences Teaching Hospital Complex, Dr. Oluwole Ige, said this yesterday while speaking with journalists in Akure on the giant strides of the health sector.

Ige said the complex has stepped up its technology driven capacity in order to enhance service delivery to the people across the 18 councils of the state.

He disclosed that the new modern technology initiative, Health Wise Foundation in collaboration with XMedia Group Lagos, would help solve all health challenges of the people.

According to him, the facility had always been responsive to the health needs of patients and was prepared to take services to a higher level such that every patient would always have good story to tell.

Ige added that the essence of the partnership was to ensure that quality healthcare services were rendered to the people, as government alone could not fund the health sector.

While analysing the new modern technology initiative, the Chairman of XMedia Group Lagos, Mr. Tunde Lawrenson, said it would address the problem of funding in the health sector because the initiative is self-sustaining.

Lawrenson noted that the concept would also involve taking health services to public places like churches, mosques among others.
