Army Expedition Flagged Off To Bugyal Fachu Kandi In Uttarkashi 

Sunday, 19 MAY 2024 | PNS | DEHRADUN

A 14-member team from the ‘Dot on Target’ division of Sapta Shakti Command of Indian Army was flagged off on Saturday for the challenging Bugyal Fachu Kandi trek (8,936 ft) expedition. The expedition was flagged off by the General Officer Commanding (GoC)  of the division, Major General Amit Talwar at Hisar cantonment. 

The team is commanded by Captain Shreet Mishra, comprises two commissioned officers, two Junior Commissioned Officers and ten Other Ranks (OR).

 The journey spanning 12 days will be undertaken in the Yamunotri valley in Uttarkashi district. A communiqué from the Indian Army said , “The Fachu Kandi pass trek combines the thrill of three treks, namely – Phulara ridge trek, Saru Tal trek and finally the Pass. The expedition will commence from Mori and culminate at the summit of Fachu Kandi Peak and will cover a total distance of 156 kilometres.’’
