The Rajkeeya Shikshak Sangh (RSS), the powerful Association of government school lecturers organised a virtual meeting on Wednesday to finalize the Protest schedule regarding their unmet demands by the education department. The general secretary of RSS, Ramesh Painyuli informed that the department has taken no cognizance of their demands.

In the meeting the schedule of the protest of the association was discussed and finalised. It was also unanimously decided that the teachers will compensate for the loss in the studies of students due to any protest by taking extra classes on Sundays.

Painyuli  stated that as per the proposed schedule of the upcoming protest the members will wear black arm bands on September 27. In addition, from October 3 to October 16, there will be a series of one-day protests held by the block committees and district committees in all the 13 districts.

The state committee will organize a one-day protest at the state headquarters from October 5 to 30, he said.

It can be recalled that the RSS members have previously communicated their demands to the education department. They have requested that promotions for lecturers and headmasters be completed within a span of two months. Further, they have emphasized the necessity of administering monthly exams twice a year and creating a list of teachers eligible for interdivisional transfers. Additionally, it has been put forth that lecturers with a grade pay of Rs 5400 should be designated as gazetted officers.
