Congress should clarify who sent Bobby Panwar to campaign in Bageshwar

The Bharatiya Janata Party has accused the Congress of exploiting the youths of the State as political pawns for its ulterior motives. The BJP State president Mahendra Bhatt alleged that for quite some time the Congress has been trying to instigate unemployed youths for its political gains which is unfortunate. Bhatt said, “The Congress fears the possibility of its defeat in the Bageshwar Assembly by-election and is conspiring to disturb the environment there. One should welcome any effort to maintain the law and order but the statements by Congress leaders expose the agenda of the party- the party is politically exploiting the youths for its ulterior aims.”

Interacting with the media and expressing his views on the arrest of Uttarakhand Berozgar Sangh president Bobby Panwar on Friday at Bageshwar, Bhatt said that any person who goes to campaign in any election does so in support of a particular side and the candidate of the party concerned takes formal permission for this. Nobody can be permitted to disturb the environment just for a particular candidate’s defeat.  He said that the administration acted efficiently on the directions of the election commission in this case, adding that this action should be praised by all parties and candidates. However, the role of the Congress appears dubious considering the statements made by its leaders. The BJP State president said that campaigning for the Bageshwar bypoll is underway peacefully with the election commission monitoring the activities. The locals also appear to have almost made up their minds while checking the candidates based on their issues and aspirations.  “The people are assured considering the development facilitated by the late MLA and cabinet minister Chandan Ram Dass and the work of the double-engine government. The people have made up their minds to vote for the BJP candidate in record numbers. The Congress leaders are aware of this and this is the reason why they are making a last ditch attempt to spoil the atmosphere in the constituency,” alleged Bhatt.

He further alleged that the Congress is pulling the strings from behind the curtain and sending persons to Bageshwar who are already infamous for playing politics in the name of raising demands of the youths and whose links with Congress leaders are common public knowledge. These are youths who have decided to make a career in politics, he added.
