CM Bats For Innovative Measures To Increase Revenue Receipts

Chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has directed all the government departments to undertake innovative measures to increase the Revenue collection. He said that all the departments should work in coordination to meet the revenue targets. The CM held a review meeting on revenue collection in the secretariat on Thursday. In the meeting the CM directed that all the departments should work actively for increasing revenue collections. He emphasised that innovative efforts should be made for revenue collections and for this online system of collection is needed to be strengthened. He said that all the officers should attend the next meeting in this regard with the action taken report on the decision taken in this meeting.

Dhami said that regular monitoring of the revenue collections should be done and for this a portal should be developed. He said that this will help in solving the problem of difference in the data of revenue collection with that of revenue council. The CM directed all the district magistrates to expedite the process of revenue collections and said that regular meetings of the committees set up in this regard should be held.

 Dhami stressed on the need to increase revenue collections in Dehradun, Haridwar, Udham Singh Nagar and Nainital districts.

 The CM said that special efforts are needed to be made by UPCL and UJVNL in the sector of power to increase the revenue. He directed that vigilance activity should be intensified to prevent power thefts and special emphasis should be made to increase billing efficiency in the areas of higher industrial demand. The CM suggested that work on commercial plantations should be done in the Terai area and better management of the sale of timber should e ensured.

 The CM directed the officers to expedite the process of recovery of previous years and strengthen the online system in the transport, mining and GST. He added that strict punitive action should be taken on those involved in tax theft and suggested that best practices of other states should be studied for GST collection.

 The CM said that efforts in the direction of encouraging industrial activity in the mountainous areas of the State should be done.  He said that the investors should be encouraged to set up industrial units in the mountainous areas during the upcoming investor’s summit.

 Cabinet minister Prem Chand Agarwal, chief secretary SS Sandhu, additional chief secretary Radha Raturi, principal secretary R K Sudhanshu, secretary R Meenakshi Sundaram, Dilip Jawalkar, Arvind Singh Hyanki, Pankaj Kumar Pandey and resident commissioner of Uttarakhand in New Delhi Ajay Mishra attended the meeting. All the DMs of the State attended the meeting virtually.
