In latest Dehradun news, the Opposition Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) in a scathing attack on the performance of the State Health Minister Dhan Singh Rawat said that while medical science is progressing at an incredible speed, the State’s medical facilities have remained stagnant, resulting in the women giving birth to their babies on roads or in the hospital toilets. “Given the progress in medical science, the specialist doctors in our country are now declaring unerringly about the date the mother will give birth to her baby or how long a patient afflicted with a serious ailment will stay alive. But in our State, the health minister makes flamboyant claims about the development of medical facilities and yet the reality is that the women are delivering outside the lift instead of the labour room of the Government Doon Medical College and Hospital.  The state of the primary and community health centres as well as the district hospitals is very pathetic. There are functioning merely as reference centres and the State government keeps deceiving the people by releasing fabricated statistics,” the State AAP convener and senior leader Jot Singh Bisht said.
