The Bharatiya Janata Party has objected to All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) chief Asaduddin Owaisi’s statements on the migration of a particular community in Uttarakhand. The BJP has opined that Owaisi is neither an accepted leader of the Muslim community nor its well wisher, but is instead involved in politics which depends on spreading hate to garner votes.

Attempts to change the demography of Uttarakhand will not be allowed to succeed and nobody will be allowed to break the law at the same time. The law is taking its own course and nobody is above the law, the BJP said.

Owaisi took to Twitter on Monday to demand a ban on the Mahapanchayat proposed by some groups on June 15in Purola, Uttarkashi. He also demanded that arrangements should be made to bring back the people who have migrated from Uttarkashi.

The BJP State media in-charge Manveer Singh Chauhan said that all the people of Uttarakhand may not know where the proposed Mahapanchayat is set to take place but Owaisi has started pursuing his agenda on this issue. The State government under chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami works on the principle of transparency and the guilty face strict action while justice is ensured for the innocent here. Chauhan said, “Owaisi tries to register his presence in all places for his vote bank politics but Uttarakhand cannot be a soft target for him. His venomous words cannot disrupt the peaceful atmosphere of Uttarakhand. The government is taking strict action in cases of land Jihad and love Jihad in Uttarakhand which is displeasing those who believe in appeasement. With the verification campaign underway, it will be difficult for anybody with a criminal past and dubious intentions to enter the State. The BJP is committed to act strictly against any conspiracy against the efforts to maintain the Sanatan culture and identity of Uttarakhand. The government committed to respect for all religions and security of the citizens will not tolerate wrong actions,” said the BJP State media in-charge.
