Tuesday, 14 February 2023 | PNS | DEHRADUN

The State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) on Monday recovered the dead bodies of two men who died in two separate incidents in Dehradun. The Police got the information on Monday around noon that a man identified as 38-year-old Santram Singh was lying unconscious in a 50 metre deep gorge on the Kalsi route. When the police arrived at the scene, they observed that the man allegedly died due to his injuries on Sunday night after his motorbike fell into the gorge.

The police also recovered his motorcycle 100 metres down the gorge. The police said that the SDRF was called in to recover the body which was sent to a mortuary in Vikasnagar. The police also recovered the dead body of 24-year-old Sunil Singh who had drowned in Dhalipur Shakti Canal on Saturday along with his friend Mustkim who was saved the same day. The police said that Singh drowned after his leg slipped near the river and his friend Mustkim jumped into the water to save him but the locals saved him. The SDRF was finally able to recover the body on Monday evening and handed it over to the police.
