Cong Demands CBI Probe In Patwari Paper Leak Case

Saturday, 14 January 2023 | PNS | DEHRADUN

The Uttarakhand Congress has demanded that a Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) probe should be ordered in the Patwari Paper Leak case and every employee associated with conducting examinations of the Uttarakhand Public Service Commission (UkPSC) should be invested by the agency in a time bound manner. The party has also demanded that all examinations such as forest guard and PCS main Examination conducted by the UkPSC should be suspended till the report of the investigation is received.

The deputy leader of the Congress Legislature Party (CLP) Bhuwan Kapdi told media persons at Congress Bhawan on Friday that one of the accused in the UkPSC paper leak case is section officer Sanjeev Chaturvedi who was in the ultra secrecy department of the commission. He said that it is a matter of extreme concern that this officer was involved in the conduction of other important examinations of the commission such as PCS, Lower PCS and RO mains examinations and had played a key role in preparing the syllabus of the examinations.  Kapdi said that involvement of Chaturvedi has brought other examinations of the commission under the cloud of suspicion.  He said that the CBI probe should cover all the examinations and would reveal the names of the employees of the commission involved in paper leaks in the past. Kapdi said that the State government should ensure that the secrecy and purity of all the examinations is maintained so that all the aspirants can participate in the examination without any suspicion.

On the grant of 30 per cent reservation to the women of Uttarakhand, Kapdi said that though the act in this regard has come into existence, the women of other states too are included as the beneficiaries of the 30 per cent reservation in the upcoming PCS mains examinations. He said that the matter would be heard by the Supreme Court (SC) on February 7. The Congress leader said that the PCS main examinations should be withheld until a final decision in the favour of domiciled women of state is not taken.

The president of Uttarakhand Youth Congress Sumitar Bhullar, chief spokesperson of State Congress Garima Dasauni and others were present on the occasion.
