The Police have registered a case and started investigation following a complaint about a mentally affected girl being gangraped by three men in the Bahadarabad area of Haridwar. Sources state that the rape was also confirmed in a medical examination.

According to the information received from the police, a mentally affected 21-year-old woman used to roam around in the area.  It is being said that when she was sauntering on the Bahadarabad bypass late in the evening on November 29, three bike-borne men pulled her into the bushes and then gangraped her. The family of the victim lodged a police complaint on Friday evening after which the police lodged an FIR on Saturday.

In the investigation of this case, the police found that three men who were doing the task of grinding stones in houses under construction had carried out this crime.  All the three accused are said to be residents of Roorkee Civil Line Kotwali area.

According to the Bahadarabad police, efforts are underway to arrest the three accused.
