A week-long festival of Science and technology on the theme of Vigyan Sarvatra Pujyate will be organised from February 22 to 28 at Vigyan Dham, UCOST.

The Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav is being celebrated all over India. In this regard, the Ministry of Culture in association with Vigyan Prasar, Department of Science and Technology, Uttarakhand State Council for Science and Technology (UCOST) along with National Academy of Sciences, India (NASI) Uttarakhand chapter is organising a week-long science festival on the Vigyan Sarvatra Pujyate theme. In Uttarakhand this programme will be organised in Dehradun, Srinagar and Haridwar. The programme will be carried out in English and Hindi and will be in hybrid (online and offline) mode. In this week-long event, science camps and other events will be organised in all science disciplines and the main focus will be science communication, popularisation and extension. Various institutes and bodies including Indian Institute of Remote Sensing (IIRS), Survey of India,  Himalayan Action Research Centre (HARC), Indian Institute of Petroleum, Instruments Research for Development Establishment (IRDE), National Innovation Foundation, Wildlife Institute of India, Wadia Institute of Himalayan Geology, Defence Electronics Applications Laboratory (DEAL), Natraj Publishers, Society of Pollution and Environmental Conservation Scientists (SPECS) among others will showcase their work during this festival. The inaugural session will be held on February 22 in which various expert lectures, science quizzes, screening of scientific Film and visits to the various exhibitions will be conducted. On February 23, quiz competition and hands-on science fun activities will be organised along with an expert lecture on the annals of history and science. The theme of day three will be milestones in Indian modern science and technology. On February 24 events will be organised under the theme science, technology and innovation for self reliance. The next day will have a science literature festival along with skit competition, rangoli making competition and book exhibition. All India Radio, Dehradun, Doordarshan, Dehradun and various book publishers will also participate in this event. On February 27 events will be organised under the theme ‘Looking Ahead-Science and Technology Roadmap for Next 25 Years’ along with hands-on science fun activity. The valedictory session will be held on February 28. According to the event organisers, this week-long science festival is an opportunity for students and researchers to showcase their talent apart from being a source of information and science fun activity.
