The FICCI FLO Uttarakhand chapter organised FLO Achievers Awards on Wednesday. Fourteen women from various spheres and parts of India were felicitated on the occasion. The day also saw the outgoing chairperson of the state chapter, Shilpi Arora handing over the office to Nazia Izuddin.

Speaking on the occasion, Arora said, “It has been a great journey and this is the last programme under my tenure. I am very happy as many amazing programmes were held that were unique and special for us.’’

Addressing the talk session ‘She Leads’ acid attack survivor Laxmi Agarwal said, “It was hard to survive the trauma I was facing after the attack. However, my family has always been there for me and their strength and love helped to come out from the pain I was in. It took me time to realise that face is not important- these are norms set by societies. It is important to accept and love ourselves.’’

Designer Anju Modi was felicitated with the lifetime achievement award. The other women achievers who were awarded on the occasion were Laxmi Agarwal, Dr Veena Khanduri, Ridhi Mehra, Arushi Nishank, Nupur Agarwal, Devanshi Rana, Radhika Jha, lieutenant commander P Swathi, Karishma Manga Bedi, wing commander Anupama Joshi, Anukriti Gusain, lieutenant commander Vartika Joshi and Prerna Dangi.
