Charity Marathon ‘Dod pieci’, run by youth radio station Pieci_LV, has come to an end Wednesday, December 23.
This year, the Marathon raised 402,065 EUR which will be channeled towards awareness and reduction of domestic violence.
As previously reported, Dod Pieci ran December 17 to 23 and involved DJs broadcasting from a glass box in historic Dome square in the center of Riga. Members of the public could request songs to be played by pledging 5 euros.

The funds donated during the marathon will be directed to the Ziedot.lv rapid response crisis fund , providing financial support mainly to women and children who want to break free from violent relationships but are unable to do so due to lack of support.
