My inability to pay for studio sessions forced me to learn music production – King Paluta

Renowned musician, King Paluta has disclosed his reason for learning music production in addition to his rap talent.

The  rapper, born Thomas Adjei Wireko explained on Tuesday, March 26 that he was financially burdened and could not pay for Studio Sessions at the early stages of his music career.

He said this forced him to learn music production to avoid paying for studio sessions.

“Being a studio rat, you will learn. What got me into the production side is that back then, we did not have money to pay for studio sessions.

“So it occurred to us to also download the software and start learning with the recording and later we improved on it before we realised we were producing professionally,” he said on TV3’s New Day.

King Paluta said his strong desire to be an established musician enticed him to use his school fees to pay for studio sessions.

According to him, he missed the chance to hone his other talent which is drawing by studying business in the secondary school.

Although he feels he should have capitalized on his drawing skills, King Paluta believes his efforts to be a musician have all paid off now.

“Sometimes, I sit down and be like why did I even go to school because I did business but I say to myself that there was no need studying business because I have other talent which is I can draw.

I was born out of wedlock; only met my father at 19 years – King Paluta

“I think sometimes I will be like I should have taken some things serious in my life but I was so focused on becoming a musician and so even if I take money for school fees, I use it for studio sessions but I am benefiting from all that now,” he noted.

The musician who was raised by a single parent, his mother, is now a well-known musician whose songs are receiving a lot of views.

His repertoire includes songs like “Aha Akye” with Samini, “Sika Aba Fie,” “Ya Hitte,” and “Aseda”.
