Sack Yaw Buaben Asamoa – Alan told

A leading member of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the Ashanti Region, Ishaq Kyei-Brobbey, has called on the immediate past Minister for Trade and Industry, Alan Kwadwo Kyerematen, to sack his Campaign spokesperson, Yaw Buaben Asamoa, for “insulting” the intelligence of party delegates.

Speaking on weekend political show on Akoma FM in Kumasi Wonsom with Aduanaba Kofi Asante Ennin, the patron of Tertiary Students Confederacy (TESCON) at Kumasi Technical University called on the party leaders to take a second look at recent comments by Mr Buaben Asamoa.

The former MP for Adentan is said to have incurred the wrath of NPP delegates by accusing them of being induced by the camp of Vice President Dr Mahamudu Bawumia.

The Communication Director of the Alan Campaign is alleged to have said that Dr Bawumia is using government machinery to induce and threaten delegates.

He said delegates are being induced to endorse Dr Bawumia and vote for him during the NPP Presidential Pmaries.

But Mr Ishaq Kyei-Brobbey described these allegations as dangerous.

He said his comment is a disgrace to the party and he should be sacked.

He said this is flimsy, baseless and is a personal attack.

He, therefore, called on party members to disregard the comment and forge ahead for a united party ahead of the presidential primaries.

“Mr. Alan Kyerematen should jettison Buaben Asamoah off his campaign team. He simply cannot connect and has become clueless. I pity your campaign strategies…pathetic.”

The former Minister for Trade and Industry, Alan Kyerematen, and the Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia have been deemed the frontrunners in NPP’s upcoming flagbearership contest with other candidates such as Kennedy Agyapong, Kwabena Agyepong, Francis Addai-Nimoh, Joe Ghartey and others.
