People thought we were Kwaw Kese – Jaguu

Hiplife musician Ato Kwamina Sagoe Ofei, popularly known as Jagoo of Konfi fame, disclosed many Ghanaians credited their songs to Kwaw Kese.

In an interview with the host of Yenko fie on Connect 97.1fm, Nana Adjoa Arthur, Jagoo revealed that some people relate their hit song, Like Father-Like Son, released in 2009, to Kwaw Kese.

According to him, the hit song took over the country, but music lovers had no idea who the real composers were.

“We went through a lot of challenges. For instance, with our hit song, Like Father Like Son, many Ghanaians didn’t know it was ours. People related the song to Kwaw Kese, so the music was everywhere, but our brand was unknown.”

Asked why he thinks they had to go through the ordeal as a new artist, the Mensuro hitmaker said, “I think it’s my association with Kwaw Kese those days because we were very tight, and you know those days didn’t really have Fante rappers in the system. So people thought It was only Kwaw who was about it.”

According to him, even though they invested so much in their music career but still struggled to penetrate the industry, adding that ‘Konfi’ is still together as a group and Ghanaians should expect a comeback soon.

The Fante Konfideration music group is made up of Jaguu and Pimp juice, popularly known for hits songs, including Wo nu Hard.
