‘My Darling’: Why can’t I have your ‘Password’ if you say you love me? – Akwaboah

Akwaboah teased fans on TV3 New Day with his incoming single, Password, barely days after releasing My Darling featuring Kwabena Kwabena.

Obiaa, featuring Cina Soul, still reigning on our playlist, has now gotten another strong contender, My Darling, and one yet-to-be-released, Password.

For Akwaboah, it’s not okay to make okay music. He believes his support system and coming from a family of musicians have imbibed a sense of responsibility to make good music.

Referring to his grandfather and father’s contribution to the Ghanaian music space, Akwaboah, a third-generation musician, reveals that he takes his craft seriously.

“If you listen to the songs that my grandfather did, from the melodies to the lyrics, they were very important and very deep. And if you listen to Daddy’s songs, they are great songs.

“So coming from that background, somehow I had it at the back of my mind that everything I put out there has to be very different. You challenge yourself every now and then to do the most. Let’s say you release a good song today. The challenge is to do better the next time.”

Akwaboah is hosting a live performance, 50 Shades of Love with Akwaboah, of his new single, My Darling featuring Kwabena Kwabena, at the La Palm Royal Beach Hotel on February 14.
