Asah-Asante raises issues against commitment of NPP communicators

A Political Scientist at the University of Ghana, Dr Kwame Asah-Asante has bemoaned the low energy level of communicators of the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP) in explaining government policies to Ghanaians.

He noted that the communicators have been dull lately especially when they are needed to defend government policies and also explain to the people.

Dr Asah-Asante said this on the Key Points on TV3 Saturday July 16 as part of the preparations for the national delegates conference of the NPP.

Over 6000 delegates of the Party are gathering at the Accra Sports Stadium to elect national executives for the party.

The Majority Leader, Osei Kyei-Mensah-Bonsu pleaded with delegates to vote for aspirants who can provide clear, strategic leadership to help the party retain power.

He urged delegates not to be influenced by money but vote based on conviction and for persons they believe can deliver.

Speaking to journalists on Friday July 15 ahead of the voting day on Saturday July 16, the Suame lawmaker said “I will plead with the delegates to vote for people who will be able to provide strategic directions for the party. I will want to plead with our party to look at who will be able to help and do what is right.”

The Director of Communications of the NPP Yaw Buaben Asamoa also stated that voting will start after mid day on Saturday July 16.

Also speaking to journalists in Accra on Friday July 15, the former Adentan MP said “There will speeches from dignitaries, the president will deliver a speech and hopefully voting will start after mid day.”
