The host of GhanAkoma on Akoma FM, Aduanaba Kofi Asante Ennin, has been adjudged the best morning show host in Ashanti Region for the year 2021 by Floodlight Media Excellence Awards
The Award scheme also rewarded Akoma FM‘s current affairs and political show GhanAkoma as the Best Morning Show Program of the Year. In effect, Akoma FM grabbed two awards for having the best morning show host and the best morning show for the year under review.
With a 70 percent voting privilege for the public and 30 percent for the Award academy, in a competitive race GhanAkoma, which is barely two years old, was crowned the best political and current affairs morning show in the garden city and beyond.
During the open remarks of the Chief Executive of Floodlight Media Excellence Award, Augustine Acquah, he explained “the award is in recognition of the show’s contribution to the broadcast media in Ghana for sustainable national and socioeconomic development”.
This award adds up to Kofi Asante’s numerous collection after he was adjudged the overall Best Morning Show Host in the Ashanti Region at the 2020 Africa Quality Awards while the maiden edition of the Floodlight Media Excellence Award in 2021 also conferred on him an honorary award on April 4.
The colourful event on Saturday, January 15 brought together outstanding media personalities, traditional rulers, and major stakeholders and players within the media Industry.
Dignitaries such as Alex Kofi Adu, popularly known as Agya Koo, were showered with honorary awards. He was honoured for his immense and outstanding contribution to the Ghana movie industry. Former Sports Minister and Member of Parliament for Atwima Mponua Isaac Kwame Asiamah was also honored.
Receiving the two awards on behalf of Akoma FM, the entire Media General platform and Aduanaba Kofi Asante Ennin was Producer for GhanAkoma Nana Asenso Mensah.
He thanked cherished listeners of the radio station for making it one of the most listened to in Kumasi.
He explained that “though we are just two years old in the market, we are rocking shoulders with the ‘big fishes’. On behalf of the entire Media General Group, we promise our listeners, followers and lovers to be on top of the market to churn out nothing but the best contents to educate, entertain and inform the public. To our cherish business partners and advertisers who have held us down, the best is yet to come”.
He further acknowledged organizers of the award for promoting hard work and professionalism.
