Vetting committee releases MMDCEs report, submits list to President

President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has received the report of the committee that was mandated to assess persons whose names came up for the Metropolitan, Municipal and District Chief Executive (MMDCEs) positions.

The committee made a number of recommendations and has accordingly submitted to the president and also to the Minister for Local Government, Decentralization and Rural Development, Dan Botwe.

All accounts suggest Mr. Osei-Boahen, performed creditably well as MCE. He comes from Mim and has extensive experience working as polling station chairman, polling agent, and constituency chairman for the party. He is also a two-term Assembly member for the Mim-Dome Electoral Area. He holds B-Com in Accounting and an MBA from the University of Cape Coast.
ASUNAFO SOUTH DISTRICTOsei Bonsu Frank Aduse PokuPaul Asabre Pinamang  The committee recommend Mr. Osei Bonsu for renomination as DCE. Mr. Osei Bonsu comes to the role with significant experience as DCE, community, and party activist. He was a former constituency organizer and chairman, and constituency campaign Manager. He is a teacher and District Coordinator of the National Disaster Management Organization (NADMO). His renomination will promote stability and the steady growth of the district.   EDUCATION
ASUTIFI NORTH DISTRICTAnthony MensahStephen K. BaahRichard Boama  The Committee recommends Mr. Anthony Mensah for renomination as DCE. The DCE is the best among the shortlisted applicants. He is effective and enjoys a cordial relationship with the constituency and polling station executives. Also, he played a significant role in the campaigns and supported reconciliation efforts between supporters of Joseph Daha Benhazin, former MP for the area, and Patrick Banor, incumbent MP, following a division and tension after the 2020 parliamentary primaries. Also, he played a leading role to discourage the threat of “skirt and blouse” voting by supporters of the Daha Benhazin in Ntotroso. He is a former Research and Elections Officer for the constituency. Mr. Mensah holds a BA of Education in English from Catholic University and MA in Public Administration from KNUST.
ASUTIFI SOUTH DISTRICTRobert Dwomoh MensahAtuahene AntwiDavid-Adu Boateng Jnr  The Committee recommends Mr. Robert Dwomoh Mensah for renomination as DCE. Mr. Mensah appears to be a match in the district to contain the excesses of Hon. Collins Dauda. Robert Dwomoh Mensah was supportive in the elections and has good relations with the party executives. He is a former Ashanti Regional Coordinator of the Ghana School Feeding Programme between 2008 and 2009. His renomination will among other things ensure continuity and party growth in a difficult constituency.  He holds BA in Political Science with Linguistics and MBA from GIMPA.
TANO NORTH MUNICIPALITYErnest KwartengGabriel Ankomah    Karikari Appau  The committee recommends Mr. Ernest Kwarteng for renomination as MCE. He appears to have the support of the traditional leaders and party executives for renomination. He is a former polling station chairman and constituency financial secretary. Given his experience as MCE and the reported support of key stakeholders, his renomination would benefit the district’s development drive. He holds MSc in Industrial Mathematics, KNUST, and B.Ed. Mathematics, University College of Education, Winneba.
TANO SOUTH MUNICIPALITYCollins Offinam TakyiIsaac Agyei BuabengBenjamin AssabilEssando  The committee recommends Mr. Offinam Takyi for renomination as MCE. The applicant was instrumental in the 2020 elections campaign and supported the MP/PC to increase the vote balance of the party. He has served in the following roles—former Assemblymember for the Dwomo East Electoral Area, polling station youth organizer, and financial secretary for the party. He has demonstrated commitment to community development and his re-nomination would yield dividends for the people and the NPP. He holds B.Ed. Population and Family Life Education and an MBA, both from the University of Cape Coast.

He was the constituency secretary from 2018 to date, the electoral area coordinator from 2013 to 2018, and a polling station chairman from 2009 to 2013. He served as a polling station agent in the 2016 general elections. He holds an MBA from KNUST and BA in Economics and Sociology from UCC.

Mr. Amankwaa played an instrumental role in the 2020 general elections. He is affable and liked by many in the constituency. He was the Research Officer from 2013 to 2018 and the secretary from 2018 to date.   He holds an MBA in Human Resource Management from UCC and B. ED Health, Physical Education, Recreation and Sports from the University of Education in Winneba.
DORMAA MUNICIPALEric Kwabena YeboaOppong HenryDrissa Ouattara  The committee recommends Mr. Eric Kwabena Yeboah for nomination as MCE. Mr. Yeboah has been a member of the Communication Team from 2010 to date. He is a grassroots person as well as a long-standing member of the party. He understands the development challenges of the area and he is in touch with the people. He has been a constant member of the campaign teams from 2012 through to 2020. He holds MPhil Curriculum Studies and BA in Education from UCC.
DORMAA EAST DISTRICTEmmanuel Kofi AgyemanNicholas AsamoahAnsu Yeboah Williams  The committee recommends Mr. Emmanuel Kofi Agyeman for renomination as DCE. This recommendation is based on prior performance as DCE in the first term of his excellency the President. He relates well with the youth, chiefs, and party executives. He campaigned well for the party and made sure he brought everybody on board. He was the Constituency Chairman from 2013 to 2017. He was also an Assembly member for Kyeremanso –Ahenboboano Electoral Area from 2010 to 2014. He was a member of the 2020 Campaign Team. He holds MA in Theology, Emmanuel Bible Institute, MSc in Industrial Mathematics, KNUST, and B.E.D in Science, Physics from the University of Education, Winneba.
BEREKUM WESTDominic OppongBright Oteng- HennahPeter Asomah Boampong  The committee recommends Mr. Dominic Oppong for nomination as DCE. He expressed his priority among others is to forge a good working relationship with the tripod to ensure the steady development of the area and the party. He campaigned vigorously in 2020 for the party. He was part of the 2020 Campaign Team. He is the assistant constituency secretary and a former deputy constituency organizer from 2014 to 2018. He holds B.E.D in Mathematics from UEW.
BREKUM EAST MUNICIPALKofi Adjei Paul Ofori-AmanfoEmmanuel Ameyaw  The committee recommends Mr. Kofi Adjei for renomination as MCE. He worked well with the Tripod to ensure a unified campaign in 2020. He has appreciable knowledge of the local government system. The youth, chiefs, and opinion leaders appreciate his service. He was the constituency chairman from 2009 to 2016 and a presiding member of the Berekum Municipal Assembly from 2006-2008. He holds GCE Advanced Level from Dorma Secondary School.
BANDA MUNICIPALITYEmmanuel AkonePaul BaffoePeter Donkor  The committee recommends Mr. Emmanuel Akone for nomination as MCE. He has in-depth knowledge in both party and local government administration. His nomination will unify the feuding factions in the constituency. There are so many internal conflicts in the constituency party especially between the MCE and the PC, which may have contributed to the party’s defeat in the 2020 general elections. Mr. Akone is the current constituency secretary, the research and elections officer from 2013 to 2017, and a former Polling Station Chairman from 1997 to 2008. He holds Post Graduate Diploma in Education from Valley View University, BA in Management Studies from UCC, and HND in Marketing from Koforidua Technical University.
JAMAN SOUTH DISTRICTAndrews BediakoPeter NketiahAlhaji Abu  The committee recommends Mr. Andrews Bediako for nomination as DCE. Mr. Bediako worked spiritedly for the party in the 2020 general elections. He was a member of the constituency campaign team. He was served as the constituency youth organizer from 2009 to 2010 and the electoral area coordinator for Nana Addo’s Presidential primary elections in 2010. He does not belong to any faction in the ensuing turf-war in his constituency. He is seen as a unifier. The current DCE has issues with almost all of the constituency executives. She is seen as fueling discord in the district/constituency. Given the chance, Mr. Akati could foster unity to improve conditions for the district/constituency. He holds MA in Business Administration in Leadership and Management from KNUST and BSc in Agricultural Technology from the University of Development Studies.
CENTRAL GONJA DISTRICTAhmadu ZakariaMustapha Mbonwura Seidu Saaka Bakari  The committee recommends Mr. Ahmadu Zakaria for nomination as DCE. Mr. Ahmadu Zakaria is a grassroots supporter of the party and has an in-depth knowledge of the constituency. He is a three-time constituency secretary for the constituency; a polling station secretary from 1992-1996, and a Zonal Coordinator from 1996-2008.  He believes in consensus politics, a trait that will promote peace, development, and ultimately the fortunes of the party. He has considerable experience in the public sector having worked as the Marketing Officer for YEA and District Manager for NHIS. He holds BA in Management from the University of Cape Coast and an MA in Public Administration from KNUST.
EAST GONJA MUNICIPAL  Zakaria IddiHaruna IddrisuAbdulai Habib  The committee recommends Mr. Zakaria Iddi for nomination as MCE. The party is divided into factions in the constituency. Mr. Zakaria Iddi is a neutral person whose nomination may stem the tide and eventually unify the district/constituency for development. The Osafo Marfo and National Security reports recommend the removal of the current MCE. Mr. Zakaria Iddi’s temperament and experience appear to be the ideal replacement. He was the liaison officer for the creation of the new region, a party agent in 2000, a collation agent in 2004, 2008, and 2012 general elections, and a member of the 2020 campaign team.  Mr. Zakaria Iddi is a PhD candidate in Social Forestry and Environmental Governance from the University of Energy and Natural Resources; MSc in Local Economic Development from KNUST; and BSc in Agricultural Economics from the University of Ghana.
                               NORTHEAST GONJA DISTRICTMohammed Musah TindawuSalifu DramaniAnass Karim  The committee recommends Mr. Mohammed Musah Tindawu for nomination as DCE. Mr. Mohammed Musah Tindawu is an ardent supporter of the party in the constituency. He is team-spirited and has to ability to work well with the party grassroots. He is a problem solver. He is currently the patron for Salaga North Constituency and a member of the 2020, 2012, and 2016 campaign teams. He holds a BA in Sociology from the University of Ghana and an MA in Social Work, New Delhi University, India.
SAWLA-TUNA-KALBAGbulo TomaBanasco Seidu NuhuAlbert Obraka Wuor  The committee recommends Mr. Gbulo Toma for nomination as DCE. Mr. Gbulo Toma is from the Vugla ethnic group which tends to vote for the party. He enjoys the widespread support of the people and the party executives. Mr. Gbulo Toma has worked extensively for the party in various capacities namely, polling station officer, constituency secretary, and regional financial secretary. He holds MA in Education in Educational Management from the University of Winneba and an MSc in Health Education and Promotion from KNUST.
WEST GONJA MUNICIPALITY  Karim Musah KusubariSeidu Abu-JajaAyuba Seidu  The committee recommends Mr. Karim Musah Kusubari for nomination as MCE. Mr. Karim Musah Kusubari is the constituency secretary and has worked very well with the MP. He exemplifies the partnership we need to be successful and to break the eight. He has an in-depth appreciation for the political and development issues facing the district/constituency. He is a Registered Midwife from Goaso Midwifery Training and a Health Assistant, Damango Nursing Training College.
NORTH GONJA DISTRICTAdam EliasuSalifu Simon BabaAdam Thompson  The committee recommends Mr. Adam Eliasu for renomination as DCE. He performed very well, and his renomination may be beneficial for the district. He holds a BA in Economics and Information from the University of Ghana and a MA in Local Economic Development from the Institute of Local Government. The committee also humbly recommends the appointment of a perceived leader in the Tampilma community, a two-time parliamentary candidate for the party, and immediate past deputy regional minister, Mr. Samuel Tika, to a position to appease the minority Tampilma group. This community tends to vote for the NPP. In the 2020 general elections, they voted over 60% for the party.

His expressed vision includes attracting investment to West Mamprusi. He has held various positions in the party namely—polling station agent, member of elections campaign Team, TESCON Vice President, and TESCON President. He holds BSc in Integrated Development Studies from the University of Development Studies.
CHEREPONIKofi Salifu OrlandoZuweiratu Mada NashiruLambini Kombat Sakab  The committee recommends Mr. Kofi Salifu Orlando for nomination as DCE. Mr. Kofi Salifu Orlando was very instrumental in the 2020 general elections.  He worked very closely with the MP and party executives for the success of the party. He has made accelerating development and peace in the district his utmost priority. He was the deputy constituency secretary from 2001 to 2009 and the substantive Constituency Secretary from 2009 to 2013. He holds a BA in Education Psychology from the University of Cape Coast.
BUNKPURUGUJoseph LouknaanAbdul-Majeed Azumah DuutiEmmanuel Dokin Seidu  The committee recommends Mr. Joseph Louknaan for nomination as DCE. Mr. Joseph Louknaan is currently the planning officer of the district. He is the patron of the NPP Loyal Ladies and the V20 coordinator, he was a TESCON secretary in school and the constituency IT coordinator in the 2012 general elections. He holds an MSc in Development Planning and Management from KNUST and BA in Integrated Development Studies from the University of Development Studies.
MAMPRUGU/MOAGDURI  Adam AbuKande Ibrahim AdjeiAmadu Iddi Nachi-Naba  The committee recommends Mr. Adam Abu for renomination as DCE. Mr. Adam Abu is a unifier, hardworking and his nomination will bode well for the district. He did tremendously well as the DCE and appear to have the support of the people and the party structures. He is a problem solver, passionate, and highly energetic. He was among other things served as the constituency secretary, constituency communications director, collation agent in 2016, Party Agent as well as Chairman for NPP Mamprugu Youth Network in 2016.   He holds an Advanced Diploma from the Institute of Commercial Management – UK.   Check and update education if any

Mr. Elijah Suleman Abdulai is an active grassroots operative of the party. He considers the development of the party and district as his motivation to serve. He is deemed a unifier, and his appointment may help unify the district/constituency from the emergence of factions in the constituency. He holds BSc in Renewable Natural Resources Management from KNUST.
YUNYOO-NASUANKonlan BitianJoseph Soayam MambilimbaDahamani Dabo  The committee recommends Mr. Konlan Bitian for nomination as DCE. Kolan is seen as a unifier, one who could foster a good relationship between the Kokombas and Mamprusis. He currently holds a position as the constituency organizer and campaigned vigorously for the success of the party in the 2020 general elections. His hard work won for the party 13 out of the 14 polling stations in the Bimoba Zone assigned to him.   He holds BA in Education and Diploma in Basic Education from the University of Cape Coast.

YENDI MUNICIPALITYZakaria Abubakari SaddiqAlhaji Ahmed Yussuf AbubakarFusheini B. Zakaria  The committee recommends Mr. Zakaria Abubakari Saddiq for nomination as MCE. He eloquently explained how he can help maintain peace and security in the Municipality. He helped the MP in various ways during the 2020 elections in which the MP has acknowledged. He was the collation officer in the 2020 elections. Mr. Sadiq provided much of the logistics needed for the collation center. He adopted several youth groups and polling stations in the constituency. He is also a TESCON Patron for the University of Education. He is a PhD candidate in Mathematics, at UDS.  He holds an MBA in IT Management from Paris Graduate School of Management; and an M.Ed. in Mathematics from the University of Winneba.
NANTON DISTRICTAbdulai MurtadaAlhaji Abdul-Karim IddrisuMohammed Jamal Abdul-Nassir  The committee recommends Abdulai Murtada for nomination as DCE. He has the vision of consolidating the gains of the party by building a strong relationship between the MP, DCE, constituency executives, and the traditional leaders.  He has worked actively for the party since 2000. He campaigned well for the MP and the Party.  He is presently the constituency secretary, a former research officer, and an electoral area coordinator. He is the Assembly Member for Nantong Limam Fong. He holds BA in Education from the University of Education, Winneba.
 KARAGA DISTRICTIddrisu Mohammed SaaniAlhassan YabdowAlhaji Kaleem M. Ibrahim  The committee recommends Mr. Iddrisu Mohammed Saani for nomination as DCE. Mr. Iddrisu Mohammed Saani expressed a vision to work with all stakeholders to fight extreme poverty and promote development. He referred to introducing modern farming techniques, education, and improve healthcare access as measures he will prioritize.  He expressed himself very well and showed detailed knowledge of the issues confronting the district/constituency party. He served the party from his school days as a TESCON Secretary at Bimbila Training College. He was the zonal coordinator and finance committee member of the 2020 general elections campaign. He holds a BSc in Statistics from UDS and Diploma in Basic Education from E.P. College of Education, Bimbilla.
TOLONFuseini Salifu Issifu MoshieDokurugu IbrahimYakubu Balchisu  The committee recommends Mr. Fuseini Salifu Issifu Moshie for nomination as DCE. Mr. Fuseini Salifu Issifu appears to understand the challenges facing the district/constituency compare with the other applicants. He is a long-standing member of the party. He presents himself as a father figure to party members in the Nyaankpala Zone, a zone with the highest number of polling stations in the constituency. He defended the party in the Nyaankpala zone at the height of the chieftaincy disputes.  Due to his perseverance and hard work, the party increased its votes in the 2020 general elections in the Nyaankpala zone. Mr. Fusheini was a member of the 2020 general elections campaign team and secretary to the Chiefs and Traditional Leaders Committee. NANUMBA SOUTHIssifu ZakariaAlhassan Abubakar  Suadiku Fuseini Zakaria  The committee recommends Mr. Issifu Zakaria for nomination as DCE. Mr. Yussif Zakaria demonstrated considerable knowledge of local government issues when he appeared before the committee. He also has a good understanding of the grassroots dynamics of the party and how to tackle them. His drive and commitment to the party were unaffected when he was not chosen as the DCE in 2017. He was a member of the 2020 general elections campaign team. Mr. Yussif has served as the constituency secretary. In 2013, he stepped down as Secretary in the interest of peace. He holds M.A in Communication Studies and BA in Management Studies, both from the University of Cape Coast.
NANUMBA NORTH MUNICIPALITYAbdulai YakubuBawa Alidu AlaziZiblim Nantogmah  The committee recommends Mr. Abdulai Yakubu for re-nomination as MCE. Mr. Abdulai Yakubu worked well with the tripod, and that contributed to the relative peace and effective collaboration with the party executives and MP. His doors were always opened to all. He worked hard to ensure that the party did not only win the seat but also increase its vote share. He holds BBA in Human Resource Management from Laweh Open University College and Dip. TATALE-SANGULIJames Cecil YanwubeTayer Maxmillan GmayasanbeElizabeth Ajua Mahama  The committee recommends Mr. James Cecil Yanwube for nomination as DCE. He is a former MP for the constituency. He mobilized the Basara voters for the 2020 general elections, and the result shows an increased vote outturn for the party. He visited the constituency every month to campaign for the party. He is seen as the father in the Basara community.  His nomination will achieve tribal balance, given that, the MP is a Konkomba. He holds ACCA qualification and an MBA from the University of Lincolnshire & Humberside, London. (Check and update first degree)
SAGNARIGU MUNICIPALITYYakubu Ahmed MohammedYakubu Abdallah IddrisuHusein Yunus Alhassan  The committee recommends Mr. Yakubu Ahmed Mohammed for nomination as MCE. Mr. Yakubu Ahmed Mohammed contributed to the 2020 general elections. He knows the constituencies that constitute the municipality. He is seen by all groups and stakeholders as an objective and hardworking person. He enjoys the support of the chiefs, the youth, and the majority of the party executives from the two constituencies.   He has served the party in the following roles— Polling station chairman, research, and research and elections officer (verify from the CV) in Sagnarigu. He holds MPhil in Innovation Communication from UDS and B.Ed. in Guidance and Counselling from the University of Education, Winneba.
ZABZUGU DISTRICTAhmed Abubakari-IddrisuHamdia Shahadu Alhassan Tobzoi Nasamu Zakari   The committee recommends Mr. Ahmed Abubakari Iddrisu for renomination as MCE. Mr. Ahmed Abubakari Iddrisu is the current DCE. He did well with the management of the tripod. His inter-personal relationship attracted more people to the party, a key contributor to the constituency’s success in the general elections. He is a regular visitor to the district to interact with the people. He demonstrated skills and knowledge of the local government system and related development issues. Mr. Ahmed was a member of the Northern Region Communications Team and a patron of TESCON in Bagabaga College of Education He holds M.Ed. in English and B.Ed. in English, both from the University of Cape Coast.
SAVELUGU MUNICIPALITYAliyu Issahaku Gbambegu Dr. Salifu Alhassan NantogmaHajia Ayishetu Seidu  The committee recommends Mr. Aliyu Issahaku Gbambegu for nomination as MCE. He worked hard during the 2020 elections and finances party activities. He has appreciable knowledge of local governance.  He relates well with the grassroots. Several stakeholders in the constituency have spoken well of Mr. Aliyu. He was the 2020 V-20 Coordinator and a former Parliamentary aspirant for Savelugu. He is a government appointee to the assembly. He holds MA in Human Resource Management and BSc. in Agriculture both from the University of Cape Coast.
