Veteran Actor Wakefield Ackuaku recounted how ungrateful Socrate Safo has been to his helpers. According to Wakefield, he and other actors collectively built Socrate Safo’s Movie Africa Production house. Now he insults them because he has found prominence.
As a guest on Anigye mere, he shared his ordeal with Christian Agyei Frimpong on Onua TV last Thursday night. The “Deadly Voyage” star said they did numerous films for the Movie Africa boss without taking a dime from him.
According to him, Socrates was sacked from Hacky film, so together with his industry friends, they decided to help him on his feet. But, he turned his back on them when he found his footing.
“I can boldly mention his name on live TV. Socrate Safo is very wicked and very bad as well. When Asare Hackman sacked him from Hacky film, we came together and did free jobs for him, because of the love we have for him. And later, he called us fools when things went well for him. I will never say anything good about him,” Wakefield Ackuaku said bitterly.
“He is such a selfish fellow. I even lent him my house for some of our productions. But later, he called us stupid,” he added.
Mr Safo was once the Public Relations Officer of the Film Producers Association of Ghana (FIPAG) and has produced over 100 hundred movies since 1988 The Sakawa Boys, Hot Fork and many more. Socrate Safo is currently the chairman of the film classification board, appointed by the National Film Authority (NFA).
