As the end of the first year of his term approaches, President Donald J. Trump is unveiling a new National Security Strategy.  

The Strategy identifies four vital national interests, or “four pillars” :

1. Protect the homeland, the American people, and American way of life

2. Promote American prosperity

3. Preserve peace through strength

4. Advance American influence.
