Mumbai Indian’s former captain Rohit Sharma gave an Inspirational Speech in the team’s dressing room after its first-ever win in the IPL 2024. At the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai, MI defeated DC by 29 runs to record the first win of this season. One of MI’s standout players of the evening, Rohit scored 49 off just 27 balls to give his team a quick lead.

In a video that MI shared on the social media X, former MI all-rounder turned Batting coach Keiron Pollard hands Rohit a medal before he storms into the dressing room and praises the team’s batting performance. After hitting six boundaries and three sixes and scoring 49 runs off of 27 balls against Delhi, Rohit was bowled out before reaching a half-century.

The video began with Rohit praising his team and their efforts. He said, this is what the entrire team has been striving for. It goes to show that individual performances don’t matter if the entire batting group can stand up put their hand up and take a look at the team’s goal, the team can achieve that kind of total, he added.

Rohit continued saying, he thinks that it is something that they have been talking about for a long time. This win and performance is something that the batting coach (Pollard), Mark (Boucher), and the captain (Pandya) want. So it is wonderful to see and long may it continue, he said.

With his Sunday’s knowck, Rohit joined RCB’s Virat Kohli as the only batter to reach 1000 runs against DC. Additionally, he became just the third batter in IPL history to hit 1000 or more runs against a single team, following David Warner (against. PBKS and DC) and Kohli (versus. DC).

Along with becoming the fourth player to record 100 or more catches in the IPL as a fielder, the former MI captain joined the ranks of Kohli (110), Suresh Raina (109) and Pollard (103).

Meanwhile, Rohit’s contribution enabled MI to record their third-highest total in the Indian Premier League’s history. After Hardik Pandya was traded from GT in a historic transaction, Rohit resigned as MI captain.
