US Ambassador to India Eric Garcetti celebrated Durga Puja with vigour and enthusiasm. He visited a Durga Puja Pandal at Delhi’s Chitranjan Park. He thoroughly enjoyed the Bengali customs  and street food. He also danced the traditional dhanuchi naach which is dedicated towards Goddess Durga. The US envoy took to X formerly Twitter and shared the video of his incredible time.

Garcetti was given a warm and traditional Bengali welcome. In the video he can be seen performing the aarti which is an integral part of Durga Puja with an earthen pot in his hand. He then went to meet the children performing on the stage. He later posed for pictures with the kids.

Garcetti also relished Bengali street food like Jhal Muri and called it perfect. He concluded his visit by relishing fish, biryani and some traditional sweets.The ambassador took to X(formerly twitter) and wrote he had an incredible time doing Pandal hopping in CR park in Delhi. He said he participated in the cultural festivities and tasted amazing Pujo food. He said he was in complete awe on seeing the cultural diversity in India.

The video has got  about 1.3 lakh views and over 6000 likes. Variety of comments started coming on the video where one person said how did the ambassador manage to eat so many items.

One social media user said it was lovely to watch the amabassador do the dhunachi dance.  

One social media user said never in the history he had ever seen any diplomat travel so extensively within India and celebrate its culture, festivals and diversity and spread so much love. He had become a big fan of Ambassador Eric Garcetti. He said the ambassador was a very happy and a lovely person.

Another social media user said the dhanuchi naach step was a killer. He said the ambassador did well to pull it off.
