Prime Minister Narendra Modi said Khadi has become a powerful symbol of public sentiments and hailed the record sales at Khadi Bhawan on the occasion of Gandhi Jayanti. PM Modi said he is confident people are still attached to Khadi, which is a hand woven fabric. He said Khadi was promoted by Mahatma Gandhi due to its indigenous origin and would continue to create records. PM Modi added Khadi would help in strengthening the vision of Atmanirbhar Bharat.

According to the Khadi and industries Commission (KVIC) the flagship Khadi Bhawan at Connaught Place in the heart of New Delhi saw the highest ever sale of Khadi and village industries products with a total value of Rs1,52,45,000. PM Modi took to X (formerly twitter) and said the central governments’s decision to set up the National Turmeric Board will benefit many farmers. He said the move will provide better markets and make them more prosperous.

This comes after PM Modi urged people to purchase Khadi on Gandhi Jayanti during his Mann Ki Baat programme on September 24. As a result Sale of Rs 1.52 crore sales was recorded in one day. Khadi India took to X (formerly Twitter) and wrote PM Modi is the custodian of Khadi. It is the legacy of Mahatma Gandhi. Khadi India said PM Modi  had appealed to the people of India to buy Khadi on Gandhi Jayanti in the Mann Ki Baat Program on 24^th September.

Chairman of Khadi and Village industries Commission (KVIC), Manoj Kumar said the phenomenal sales Of Gandhi ji’s legacy  Khadi on Gandhi Jayanti was due Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s unprecedented popularity among the masses and his Brand Power.   PM Modi said the Union Cabinet’s decision to approve the establishment of the Sammakka Sarakka Central Tribal University will benefit the youngsters of Telangana. He said the move will help in deepening the understanding of tribal culture and also encourage in innovation.
